Kokrajhar (Assam), Mar 16 : President of BPF, Hagrama Mohilary and three other BPF candidates from Banargaon,Baukhungri and Salakati constituencies filed their nomination papers to contest the upcoming BTC council elections slated to be held on April 4 next today amidst a grand rally here .
Mohilary who appeared to be very confident announced that BPF is forming the fourth consecutive term in BTC council for the fourth consecutive term by winning majority of the seats .
BPF has put candidates in 37 seats out of 40 member council assembly leaving 2 seats for the BJP and 1 for the AGP .
Besides, Congress AIUDF are putting their own candidates in the council elections.The UPPL party has so far declared names of 22 candidates and Gana Suraksha Party has also their list of candidates.
Mohilary who has been representing Debargaon constituency since 2005 and today again he filed his nomination papers before the election officer to contest from that seat . Mohilary was accompanied with senior BPF leader and Assam Social Welfare minister Pramila Rani Brahma.
A grand rally was organised today in support of the BPF candidates from Green field along the JD Road to the DCs office.
After filling his nomination,Mohilary said that his party is contesting in 37 seats and has left two seats for the BJP and one for AGP as per the alliance spirit.He said that his party is forming next council by winning 25-30 seats as all sections of the communities are extending support to the BPF .
He said that UPPL will be main contender in the council elections.
” We are contesting to win in the council elections and our already evident is to dedicate more for the development of the council region”, Mohilary said.
BPF candidates for Banargaon constituency,Rajib Brahma, Derhasat Basumatary for Salakati , Derhasat Basumatary from Baukhungri constituency filed their nomination papers today.
Brahma said that he is winning the Banargaon seat with a huge margin in the council elections.
Goyary said that no environment can defeat him as all sections and the communities are extending support to him.
