Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar 26 : UPPL president and BTR chief executive member (CEM) Pramod Boro ceremonially launched the party’s election manifesto as a Vision Document of the party on Thursday at a meeting held at party office in Kokrajhar amidst huge gathering of party supporters.
The highlights of the election manifesto includes good governance in BTR administration for building up a united and integrated society apart from assurances for implementation of all clauses of the BTR accord and people’s welfare and development for all the communities residing in BTR with dignity .
The manifesto also assured of bringing in a corruption free society for paving healthy development .
Boro said that UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government is working for the people’s welfare and development with integrity.
He was hopeful that in the first phase of elections , BJP led alliance parties are winning majority seats across the state and forming the next assembly .
“In BTR areas, there are no suitable candidates to defeat UPPL and BJP parties”,Boro said adding that UPPL and it’s alliance parties are emerging victorious in all the four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region.
“There is no doubt that BJP led alliance is forming the government in the state in majority of the constituencies”, he said.
Boro said that UPPL is contesting in 11 constituencies in BTC districts and are confident of winning majority of the seats as people from across the communities are coming forward to extend support to the UPPL party candidates.
He said that there will be no impact of the BPF as commoners are avoiding the BPF in the region and accordingly will vote in favour of UPPL party candidates.
He said that his BTC government first & foremost, newly formed government has been able to usher in peace by bringing back mutual trust and tolerance among the cross-section of of the people through its quick intervention by laying emphasis on equal rights, equal development and fundamental human rights of all and thereby making everyone feel that they are truly in a state of true democracy.
He said that the BTC government has launched online portal & toll free numbers to address public grievances.
He informed that more than 700 KMs road have been sanctioned within two months of formation of the new government in BTR.
“Bodo language in Devanagri script has been officially declared as an associate official language in Assam, a number of schools have been provincialized and 2160 jobs of teacher job got regularized within two months of government formation. Moreover , rehabilitation package of Rs.4 Lacs have been handed over to NDFB, record of land rights has been handed to 5744 families and another 11,000 families will be receiving land rights soon in BTR.
Expressing his satisfcation , Boro said that Kokrajhar Town has been declared as “City of Peace” and assured that the government will work hard to convert the headquarter town into a well planned city, He also said that a separate directorate has been established for Bodo medium Schools as promised by the party prior to the council elections .
“Foundation of Govt.Model College has been laid at Koila Moila under Chirang district and an additional post of DIG in BTR has been created “, Boro added.
Meanwhile, massive campaigning by different political parties and candidates is being witnessed in different parts of Kokrajhar, including No.30 Kokrajhar East constituency to woo the voters ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled on April 6.
The UPPL and BPF along with their alliance parties are trying their best to reach out to the voters with promises. In the assembly elections, the UPPL is contesting in 11 constituencies under the BJP led NDA alliance while the BPF in contesting in 12 constituencies under the Congress led Mahajoth.
On Thursday ,UPPL president Pramod Boro addressed a well attended election campaign at Bhotgaon under Kokrajhar East constituency for party candidate Lawrence Islary.
Talking to Reporters, Boro said that his UPPL is confident of defeating the BPF candidates in all the constituencies.
BPF president Hagrama Mohilary was seen campaigning for the party candidate for Pramila Rani Brahma.
Meanwhile,BPF president Hagrama Mohilary addressed an election rally at Kokrajhar Durgabari on Thursday evening in support of BPF candidate Pramila Rani Brahma.
He was confident that the Mahajoth would be winning over 20 seats in the first phase and accordingly form the next assembly .
He was hopeful that BPF would be winning all 12 contesting constituencies across the region.
