Guwahati(Assam) , Aug 17 : 8 more Covid patients in the state succumbed to the infections on Monday taking the death toll to 197 .

The patients have been identified as Priyabrata Acharjee (64), Tinsukia; Upen Deka (60), Darrang; Banwari Lal Todi (69), Dibrugarh; Jibon Roy (45) and Mozibur Islam Hazari (57), Cachar; Matiur Rahman (65), Golaghat; Junah Chetry (24), Udalguri; Suren Mahanta (78), Kamrup Rural.
Health Minister H B Sarma has sent his condolence to the bereaved families .
