Guwahati (Assam) , Aug 20 : 1735 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Thursday taking the total number of cases in the state to 86, 052.
Among the new cases , 389 cases were reported from Kamrup Metro , 175 from Cachar , 116 from Dibrugarh and 112 from Barpeta .
A total of 2772 patients were discharged today from various hospitals and Covid Centres after recovery .
8 patients undergoing treatment for Covid succumbed to their infections taking the death toll to 221.
