Tura ( Meghalaya), June 19 : Two bikes collided head – on at Chimesengre bridge on Monday resulting in the death of one biker and critically injuring two persons including a pillion rider.
Police said that locals rushed them to Tura Civil Hospital after the bikes collided. While two of them were shifted to the hospital, one biker identified as Dechrang T Sangma was declared spot dead.
According to police , the pulsar bike bearing registration No. As 02 G. 0343 ridden by Jahangir (25yrs) from South Salmara, Assam and the pillion rider was Minarul Islam (26yrs) from Dhubri Assam and was heading towards Garobadha side. At the same time another bike ridden Dechrang T. Sangma bearing registration no ML 14 8862 from Damalgre was coming from Garobadha side.
While both the bike riders reached at Chimesenggre bridge there was a head on collision with each other.
During the investigation police found that the vehicles were moving with high speed. The body was sent for the postmortem after the preliminary investigation.
A complaint was lodged with the police and after preliminary investigation the police have registered a case and have sent the body of Dechrang T Sangma to Ampati DM&HO morgue.
