Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 16: The Government today inaugurated the newly constructed State Guest House, Taraghar, in a grand ceremony attended by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma as the Chief Guest. Describing the occasion as a milestone achievement, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening Meghalaya’s identity and infrastructure.
Since 2018, the government has undertaken several initiatives to build pride and efficiency in governance, including adopting the State emblem and state anthem, and developing key infrastructure projects. The Chief Minister also emphasized Meghalaya’s record economic growth, the government’s continued focus on health and education, and ongoing investments around Ward’s Lake, which complement the new facility.
Deputy CM Prestone Tynsong also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the significance of the guest house in enhancing the state’s hospitality and infrastructure. The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, dignitaries, and other guests.
With the inauguration of the State Guest House, Taraghar, Meghalaya takes a significant step forward in promoting tourism and governance, offering a world-class experience for guests and dignitaries visiting the state.
