Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 6: A 50-member strong contingent from Meghalaya is set to make their mark at the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 in New Delhi, happening from Jan 9 to Jan 12. This elite group includes innovators, artists, and youth delegates who have made it through a rigorous selection process, beating thousands of aspirants.
The team boasts two whiz kids from NIT Shillong, showcasing their revolutionary Smart Braille Watch, a game-changer for the visually impaired. Twenty-three talented youth artists will dazzle with traditional folk performances, while 25 delegates will engage in high-level discussions on themes like sustainability, governance, and women’s empowerment.
Led by State Youth Officer Bobby Wahlang, the contingent is pumped up to represent Meghalaya on the national stage. They’ll rub shoulders with national icons, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and showcase their skills in cultural tracks, declamation, poetry, and painting.
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2026 is part of the 29th National Youth Festival, aiming to empower youth and shape India’s future. The event focuses on ten core themes, including youth participation in democracy, women-led development, and sustainable agriculture.
The Meghalaya team is excited to share their ideas and experiences and inspire their peers back home.
