New Delhi, April 14: Meghalaya has been recognized for its outstanding performance in Aadhaar services, winning the “Best Performing State in Mandatory Biometric Updates of Children” and “Best Performing State in Verification of Adult Aadhaar Enrolment” awards from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at the Aadhaar Samvaad event.
Meghalaya’s efforts in ensuring timely biometric updates for children have been recognized through the “Best Performing State in Mandatory Biometric Updates of Children” award. Children require mandatory biometric updates at ages 5 and 15, which is a crucial step in securing their identity and facilitating access to government services.
The state has also been acknowledged for its success in verifying adult Aadhaar enrolments through the “Best Performing State in Verification of Adult Aadhaar Enrolment” award. This vital process provides accurate identity proof and enables residents to access various government schemes.
Shai Kupar War, Nodal Officer (Aadhaar), General Administration Department, Government of Meghalaya, received the awards on behalf of the state. Dr. Joram Beda, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya, expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the team’s dedication and hard work.
