Tura(Meghalaya), Feb 10: The Meghalaya government distributed land documents to settlers of GAD land in Tura Town Area (Nikwatgre) at a ceremony graced by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. He described it as “a great and satisfying moment,” saying the issuance of land documents was a result of government-public collaboration.

The CM said the lack of land documents had caused difficulties for residents, but now they would have security and empowerment. He assured similar initiatives in other areas, emphasizing the government’s approach of working with people’s willingness and cooperation.
The distribution is expected to streamline land records and strengthen governance in Tura Town Area.
