Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 30 : An MTC night bus traveling from Tura to Shillong plunged into the Ringdi River at Nongchram today at 11.50 pm . Rescue team from Rongjeng and Williamnagar Fire and emergency services rushed to the accident site for helping the victims.
The terrible bus accident in Nongshram bordering West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills.
As per the information the MTC Bus having registration No. ML 03 0221 left Tura for Shillong yesterday evening and met with an unfortunate accident at around 11.50 PM in which there were at least 6 casualties and 2 are yet to be traced .
The injured have been admitted at hospitals in Williamnagar and Tura.
The river had swollen due to rain with strong current. As per the list collected from concerned counters, there were 9 (nine) passengers from Tura and 12 ( Twelve) passengers from Williamnagar.
