Shillong(Meghalaya) , Jan 14: In a thrilling quarterfinal match of the Meghalaya State League 2024, Rymbai Shkenshynriah triumphed over Chipakkore with a 2-0 scoreline at the PA Sangma Stadium in Tura today. The winning goals were scored by H Rymbai (68′) and I Bareh (79′) in a highly competitive match played on the picturesque natural grass turf of the PA Sangma Stadium.
With this win, Rymbai Shkenshynriah joins Shillong Lajong, Ladthadlaboh, and Mawlai in the semifinals. The Tournament Committee will announce the semifinal fixtures soon.
The Meghalaya State League 2024, which began with 24 teams from across the state, has now narrowed down to four teams – two from Shillong (Lajong and Mawlai), one from West Jaintia Hills (Ladthadlaboh), and one from East Jaintia Hills (R Shkenshynriah).
Recapping the quarterfinals, Lajong defeated reigning champions Rangdajied United 3-1, followed by Ladthadlaboh’s 5-2 win over Sutnga and Mawlai’s 8-0 thrashing of Khliehmawlieh.
