Tura ( Meghalaya), Nov 20 : In a dramatic rescue operation, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) have pulled out three labourers alive from the debris of a massive landslide that struck Danakgre. The incident, which occurred on the outskirts of Danakgre, saw five labourers buried under tonnes of rubble while working on a construction project.
The SDRF team, led by Divisional Commandant Peniwel T Sangma, sprang into action after receiving a distress call, and in a remarkable display of bravery and skill, they managed to rescue the trapped labourers. Despite the challenges, the rescue efforts yielded miraculous results, with three labourers being pulled out alive. However, the joy was tempered by the loss of two lives, with one labourer succumbing to injuries at Tura Civil Hospital and another’s body recovered from the debris.
Their bravery and quick response have saved precious lives and will always be remembered as a shining example of humanity in action.
