Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 12: The highly anticipated final of the SSA Super Cup 2025 is set to kick off tomorrow at 5 pm at the SSA Stadium, where arch-rivals Rangdajied United and Shillong Lajong will face off. The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams having a rich history in local football competitions.
The rivalry between Rangdajied United and Shillong Lajong stretches back several years, with both teams having faced each other in various tournaments, including the Shillong Premier League, Meghalaya State League, Durand Cup, and I-League. Shillong Lajong has had the upper hand in recent encounters, winning both meetings in the SPL 2024 and the Durand Cup. However, Rangdajied United has been on the rise, having finished strongly in the SPL 2025 and defeating Langsning 2-0 in the semifinals.
Shillong Lajong booked their place in the final after edging past Mawlai 1-0 in the semifinals, thanks to an own goal from Arkibor Makhroh in the 27th minute. Goalkeeper Wanteilang Malngiang once again proved crucial for Lajong, maintaining another clean sheet and earning the T7 Player of the Match award.
