Kolkata , March 9 : The West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) arrested two Bangladeshi nationals, Faisal Karim Masud and Alamgir Hossain, accused of killing activist Sharif Osman Hadi. They entered India through Meghalaya’s Haluaghat border with help from local associates, reportedly received by an individual named Purti and transported by taxi driver Sami to Tura city.
The suspects, members of Bangladesh’s Chhatra League, allegedly committed the murder on December 12, 2025, and fled to India. Osman Hadi, a spokesperson for Inqilab Moncho, was shot in Dhaka, sparking widespread protests.
The arrests were made in Bongaon, West Bengal, where the suspects were trying to cross back to Bangladesh. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
