Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 13: In a significant development for cricket in Meghalaya, James PK Sangma, a former cabinet minister, has been formally inducted as the new President of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA).
The handing over ceremony, attended by members of the previous Apex Council, saw Sangma and his team take charge, promising a new chapter for cricket in the state. The new team includes Vice-President Rajiv Bareh, Honorary Secretary Rayonald Kharkamni, and other members.
The MCA also marked the occasion by honouring its achievers, including the U-23 men’s team that won the plate group of the BCCI’s State A Trophy 2025-26 one-day tournament.
Additionally, players Akash Kumar Choudhary and Purav Agarwal were felicitated for their selection in the Indian Premier League 2026 auction.
