Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 19 : Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla, the Vice-Chancellor of NEHU met Dharmedra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education on Thursday in Delhi to update the Hon’ble Minister to discuss on the matters related to the development of the University and to bring back NEHU to its former glory.
The Vice-Chancellor appraised the minister about the development work in NEHU which took place in last one year which includes the setting up of various centres like Design Innovation Centre, Office of the International Affairs, the IPR centre, MOOCs centre and the Research Cell among others.
He also informed the minister about the recruitment process of the teaching posts which will be completed in three to four months followed by the recruitment process of the non-teaching staff.
Inan effort to expedite the developmental work in NEHU, the Vice-Chancellor discussed the budget requirement of the University with the minister which was positively responded by the minister.
