Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 31 : The Northeastern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NERLDC) observed a month-long Cyber Security Awareness Programme at its Shillong and Guwahati offices.
The month of October is observed globally as the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), with an aim of increasing cyber security awareness among the public and private sectors to enhance the overall cyber resilience of the nation.
To resonate the same, Grid Controller of India Limited (formerly Power System Operation Corporation Limited) celebrated NSCAM across all its regional load despatch centres through various awareness programmes and engaging activities.
At NERLDC, the series of events included awareness sessions on cyber security for employees, family members as well as all contractual staff. An on-sport essay writing competition on the topic “How Can the Common Man Prevent Cyber Crime?” was conducted for the employees. Employees also indulged themselves in innovative poster making and slogan writing while spouses and children prepared various pamphlets on cyber-crime awareness.
During the closing ceremony held today at NERLDC, Shillong, Chief General Manager( In-charge), Amaresh Mallick highlighted the rising importance of cyber-crime awareness among the public and how events of such kind are crucial for all Institutions and Organizations.
He also congratulated the organizers of NERLDC IT team for the success of NCSAM.
