Sohra(Meghalaya) May 17: The crime scene in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case was recreated today in Sohra, shedding more light on the brutal crime. The police took all the arrested accused, including Raja’s wife Sonam, to the spot where the crime occurred. The entire scene was video graphed to gather evidence for the charge sheet.
According to SP Vivek Syiem, Sonam has already confessed her role in the murder on camera. However, the police are investigating whether the motive behind the crime was solely the love angle or if other factors, such as money, were involved.
The accused have regretted committing the murder, but no remorse has been observed. They are likely to be produced in court soon, and the police will seek additional time to investigate further.
In a significant development, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been dispatched to Indore to probe deeper into the case. The team visited a rented flat where Sonam stayed for three days after her husband’s murder and will question Sonam’s family members to gather more information.
The police are working to piece together the events surrounding Raja’s death, and the investigation is ongoing. SP Syiem revealed that an additional machete was used by another accused to eliminate Raja, and the police are now trying to locate the second dao. The police are leaving no stone unturned to unravel the truth behind the murder.
