Shillong ( Meghalaya ) , May 8 : The state today recorded the highest ever single -day fatalities with 11 deaths taking the death toll in the state due to Covid -19 so far to 210 .
The 11 patients who succumbed to their infections are :
1) Skindro Dkhar (51) of Mission Compound in Jowai ,2) Bina Rani Dey (77) of Nongthymmai in Shillong. 3) Nancy Khongjee (80) of Pynursla in East Khasi Hills. 4) Pyrkhat Gympad (60) of Lower Mawprem in Shillong,5) Amanda Rynjah (38) of Mawlai Mawdatbaki in East Khasi Hills, 6) Banteidorlang Lyngdoh (35) of Pynursla in East Khasi Hills, 7) Bun Paswet (60) of Panaliar in Jowai,8.) Jennar Sutnga (60) of Chutwakhu in Jowai, 9) Tret Mawnai (48) of Nongbsap in East Khasi Hills,10) Hordwin Myrboh (64) of Mawlynrei in East Khasi Hills, 11) Manoj Kumar Choudhury (61) of Umroi Cantonment in Ri-Bhoi.
Meanwhile , due to the worsening Covid -19 situation in the state the ongoing lockdown has been extended to May 17.
The decision was taken today after a high level meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma .
