Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 29: In a landmark achievement, the Meghalaya government has secured approval for scientific coal mining operations in the state, marking a significant stride towards responsible mining practices.
Three Escrow agreements were signed between the Controller of Coal, Government of India, and project proponents for mining sites at Pyndengshalang, West Khasi Hills; Saryngkham, East Jaintia Hills; and Lumiakhi Wahsarang, East Jaintia Hills.
