Shillong (Meghalaya), May 1 : The state on on Saturday reported 3 more Covid -19 causalities taking the toll to 174 .
The surge in Covid -19 cases in the state continues with 262 new cases detected today out of which 161 cases are from East Khasi Hills , 38 from Ri Bhoi , 16 from West Garo Hills , 12 from West Jaintia Hills , 9 from East Garo Hills . 8 each from East Jaintia Hills and and West Khasi Hills , 5 from South West Khasi Hills , 4 from South Garo Hills and 1 from South West Garo Hills .
A total of 192 patients were declared recovered today .
The 3 patients who succumbed to their infections have been identified as David Dkhar , 66 years from Madanrting locality , Laxmi Devi , 65 years from Lad Umsaw in Ri -Bhoi and Stik Kharlynnai , 65 years from Mawmaram in East Khasi Hills .
All the three patients succumbed to Covid -19 related complications .
The tally in the state has now gone up to 17, 108 with 1,659 active cases after 15, 275 patients recovered . The death toll stands at 174 .
