Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 30 : The United Democratic Party (UDP) president Metbah Lyngdoh on Thursday announced that Indian footballer Eugeneson Lyngdoh, son of (L) S.K. Sunn who passed away recently will be contesting for the upcoming by-polls on October 30.
The official announcement was made after Lyngdoh was formally inducted into the party at a meeting held in Mawngap.
Born on Sept , 10 ,1986 Eugeneson is an Indian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Indian Super League side SC East Bengal.
Lyngdoh was pursuing a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, however he abandoned it in the third year to focus on football.
Eugeneson made his debut for India on 12 March 2015 against Nepal in the first leg of a two-legged 2018 FIFA World Cup pre-qualifier in a 2–0 win where he assisted the second goal.
