Shillong ( Meghalaya), Feb 11 : Acting on specific tip-off on Friday , 10th Feb 2023, troops of 4 Bn BSF Meghalaya and state police jointly confiscated 3 trucks from Muktapur- Amlarem road, West Jaintia Hills carrying 40 cattle brutally crammed in them & being taken for smuggling to Bangladesh.
During the Joint operation the team also apprehended 3 smugglers from the spot who are residents of Ri-Bhoi district .

The smugglers were arrested and the seized items were handed over to Police outpost Muktapur for further legal action.
Till date , BSF deployed on International Border have been successful in seizure of 450 cattle from different bordering areas of Meghalaya since January 2023.
