Shillong (Meghalaya), April 19 : Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that a total of 766 samples have been tested to date and 678 samples are tested negative and results of 77 tests are awaited . So far 11 positive cases have been reported out of which 10 are active cases.
Sharing the statistics , the CM said that contact tracing of 199 primary contacts and 5,363 secondary contacts have been done and 24,382 individuals have been screened . A total 4198 persons are under home quarantine and 175 are under institutional quarantine.
He said that wife of the first Covid -19 patient is stable and is in home quarantine. The domestic helper of the index patient is also stable and in institutional quarantine and all other positive cases are under home quarantine.
The Chief Minister said that all the doctors and staff of Bethany Hospital have been tested. The results of all are negative and three results are awaited.
Those who have tested negative have been shifted to various isolation facilities and by tonight, the Hospital will be completely evacuated.
A team of 14 doctors and and staff of the hospital will oversee the complete evacuation of the hospital .
