Shillong ( Meghalaya), June 2 : 24 more Covid -19 patients succumbed to their infections in the last 24 hours taking the death toll so far to 616 .
According to a government statement , 13 deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills , 6 from West Jaintia Hills , 2 each from West Garo Hills and East Jaintia Hills and 1 from Ri Bhoi district .
Moreover , a total of 532 fresh cases were detected in the state on Wednesday out of which 301 new cases were from East Khasi Hills .

711 Covid -19 patients were discharged today after full recovery .
The active cases now stand at 6403 after a total of 29, 578 patients recovered from the virus .
