Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 29 : 2 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections taking the death toll in the state to 87 .
According to official sources ,the patients have been identified as Lalbahadur Waibha aged 62 years and Belingstar Lyngkhoi aged 45 years .
Lalbahadur Waibha hailing from Anjalee Beat House area , died on Oct 14 last . He was admitted to Super care Hospital on Oct, 12 and died of acute respiratory distress syndrome with Covid-19.
Belingstar Lyngkhoi hailing from Langsymphut, Mawsynram, was admitted to Super care hospital on Oct 18 and tested positive . He died yesterday evening. The cause of death was due to sepsis with multi-organ failure after a gall bladder operation.
Meanwhile, State Transport and Urban Affairs Minister, Sniawbhalang Dhar has tested positive for Covid-19. Dhar tested positive two days back.
Meanwhile , 77 new cases were detected in the state today taking the state tally to 9,303.
Among the new cases , 40 were recorded from East Khasi Hills , 15 from West Garo Hills, 9 from East Garo Hills, 6 from Ri Bhoi , 2 each from East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills and 1 each from South Garo Hills ,South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills .
113 Covid patients undergoing treatment were declared recovered today .
