Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 1 : With detection of 155 new COVID19 positive cases, death of two more persons and recovery of 117 more patients, the number of active COVID19 cases in Meghalaya stands at 1055 as of today .
According to official sources ,Kerdimland Shangdiar aged 65 years of Nongmynsong, Umkdait here passed away on Saturday morning. He was a high-risk contact of another Covid patient and died at home.
Pradeep Dhar aged 57 years hailing Hawakhana Proper , Tura also died on Saturday morning just after being brought to Tura Christian Hospital. Although his Rapid Antigen Test sample came teste negative, his TRUNAT test was positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile , a total of 155 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Sunday which includes 41 from East Khasi Hills, 81 from Ri Bhoi , 21 from West Garo Hills, 4 each from East Jaintia Hills and West Jaintia Hills and 2 each from South West Garo Hills and East Garo Hills .
A total of 117 patients were declared recovered today .
The state has so far reported 90 deaths due to Covid -19 while 8462 persons have recovered from the disease in the state so far.
