Shillong( Meghalaya),June 10 : The founder and publisher of the states largest circulated Khasi daily ,’ U Mawphor ‘ Bah Reading Marwein succumbed to Covid -19 complications this morning at Roberts Hospital, here .
He was not keeping well for past few weeks and had to be finally hospitalized .
Frank and humble , his entrepreneurship spanned across for more than three decades in the state .
He first set up Mawphor daily which is printed and published from his own printing press – Readington offset Printing Press .
Later on he also started an English daily Highland Post .
Information & Public Relations Minister James Sangma tweeted , “My deepest condolences on the passing away of Bah Reading Marwein, owner and publisher of Mawphor and Highland Post. He was a dedicated and humble entrepreneur who set up a venture that helped shape professional journalism especially Khasi journalism in the State. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
