Shillong (Meghalaya) Nov 24 : The Shillong Sports Association’s SSA Champions Cup 2025 kicked off with a thrilling double-header at the SSA Stadium. In Group A, Langsning secured a 2-0 win over Umlyngka, with Wanshwadame Diengdoh and Donlad Diengdoh scoring in the 78th and 84th minutes, respectively.
In the other match, Mawkasiang and Mylliem Lum played out a 1-1 draw. Edmon Marngar scored for Mawkasiang in the 23rd minute, while Eliastar Nongsiej equalized for Mylliem Lum in the 30th minute.
The tournament features 10 teams divided into two groups of five, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals. The competition promises to be intense, with some of the best teams in Shillong’s football scene vying for the top spot.
The second day of the tournament will see Nongkseh take on Laitkyrhong at 1 pm, followed by Shillong Lajong vs Mawkriah West at 4:30 pm.
