Shillong (Meghalaya), April 4: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has shut down the office of the Director at the prestigious North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIMS) in Shillong today.
This brazen act of lawlessness has sent shockwaves through the institution and the community, with many calling for the government to take immediate action against those responsible.
According to eyewitnesses, HYC members forcibly closed down the Director’s office, bringing administrative activities to a grinding halt. The motivations behind this drastic action are still unclear, but insiders suggest that it may be related to ongoing disputes between the HYC and the institute’s administration.
The incident has sparked widespread concern about the breakdown of law and order in Shillong, with many urging the government to take firm action against those responsible.
“It’s high time the government takes cognizance of such unlawful and disruptive actions,” said a senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Those who take the law into their own hands must be identified and held accountable.”
As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the government must take decisive action to restore order and uphold the rule of law in Shillong.
NEIGRIMS, established in 1987, is a premier medical institute in the North East, providing quality healthcare and education to thousands of students and patients. The institute has a strong reputation for its academic excellence, research, and community service.
The HYC, a prominent youth organization in Meghalaya, has been involved in various social and cultural activities. However, their recent actions have raised concerns about their intentions and the potential consequences of their actions.
