Tura(Meghalaya), Aug 5 : The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been tirelessly searching for Agriculture Officer Teseng M. Sangma, who was swept away in the Ganol River last Sunday. Despite focusing their efforts downstream at Pelga Waterfalls today, the search operations, which began at 6:30 AM, did not yield any results and were eventually called off at 7 PM due to poor visibility.
The strong currents and high-water level, caused by excess water being released from the Ganol Hydel Project upstream at Chibragre, posed significant challenges for the SDRF team and the Fire & Emergency Services involved in the search. MK Sangma, Director of Civil Defence, Meghalaya, reviewed the search operations at Pelga Waterfalls and provided crucial inputs to the SDRF team.
As the search continues, the SDRF remains hopeful that they will be able to locate Teseng M. Sangma soon. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and everyone is eagerly awaiting news of the officer’s safe recovery.
