Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 24 : In a surprise move, Mr . Shemborlang Rynjah, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), has tendered his resignation, effective from today , September 24, 2025. Rynjah cited health reasons as the primary cause for his decision, stating that his current health situation necessitates his resignation to prioritize his well-being and ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
In his resignation letter addressed to Mr, Strongpillar Kharjana, Chairman of the KHADC, Rynjah wished the council all the best and success in its future endeavors. The resignation marks a significant development in the KHADC’s leadership, and the council will now need to navigate the process of selecting a new CEM.
