Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 31 : The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills has warned of stern action against unauthorized toll gates in the entire East Khasi Hills district.
The order has been issued in view of forcible collection from vehicles plying on national and state highways and major roads of the districts.

The District Magistrate in a press statement said that the installation of such tollgates obstructs seamless traffic flow thereby causing inconvenience to road users and may cause road accidents.
The order strictly prohibits the operation of unauthorized toll gates and check gates and forcible collection along the national highways, state highways and major district roads of East Khasi Hills.
