Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), June 24 : The state registered its first Covid death today when a 43-year old woman died while being shifted for treatment .
According to offical sources ,the lady died while being transferred to the COVID health centre in Tomo Riba Institute of Health And Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun, today .
The women from West Kameng who was suffering from chronic Kidney disease. She was undergoing hemo-dialysis and was planning for kidney transplant surgery at Delhi.
On her return from Delhi, she was tested for Covid 19 and subsequently tested positive.
She was referred to TRIHMS on same day as her condition deteriorated but expired near Shergaon during transfer by ambulance around 4 AM today.
She was cremated following MoH&FW guidelines on deadbody management at Dirang by Dirang administration & Police.
