Dimapur ( Nagaland ), Oct 24 : Many financial misappropriation amounting to “crores of rupees” under department of the Development of Under Developed Areas (DUDA) have surfaced while the “confused leaders” running the state affairs are more into how to settle their own internal problems.
With an aim to uplift the “socio-economic and infrastructural progress”, DUDA particularly had picked Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Kiphire districts created in 2003 for the same regarded as “supposedly backward areas” in Nagaland.
Though many of the contractors were awarded to construct and build the many projects of the “work orders” issued for 2011-12 and all the amounts have been sanctioned, many of the said projects for different districts in the State are yet to be seen or have materialized.
A senior leader of a political party in the state when queried on the alleged misappropriation of funds in the State, said that so much money (funds) have been pumped in for, but regretted that the government did not utilize it for what it was meant for.
