Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 9 : For the first time in the past few weeks there has been a sharp decline in the new Covid cases in the state .
The state reported 187 new Covid cases and 11 more deaths in the last 24 hours .
According to the data shared by the Health department , 11 Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the last 24 hours .
While East Khasi Hills reported 5 deaths , Ri Bhoi and West Khasi Hills registered 2 deaths each . I death each was recorded in East Jaintia Hills and South Garo Hills .

187 new cases were detected in the state on Monday which included 95 from East Khasi Hills .
709 patients were also discharged today after full recovery .
The active cases now stand at 4,734 .
