Imphal (Manipur), April 21 : The Manipur Government issued an order to close down the three Ima Keithel, world famous women only market, and adjoining Temporary Market for ten days.
Henceforth ,shops would be opened on rotation.
With the increase in the number of positive cases in the state, the government has taken up additional stringent measures to check the spread of the infection in the state.
As a part of measures taken up by the government, all public transport vehicles have to carry passengers upto maximum half capacity and ensure all passengers wear face masks always.
With 88 new cases in the state on Wednesday, Manipur COVID-19 active cases surged to 385. Two deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, the total fatality reached 380 and the caseload of the state is 29,961. 113651 individuals have been vaccinated in the state so far, according to COVID-19 Common Control Room.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Epidemic Diseases (Enforcement of Covid-19 Guidelines) Regulation, 2020, has been amended and penalties for violations of the guidelines and restrictions issued by the Manipur State Disaster Management Authority and the state government in connection with COVID-19 pandemic.
H Gyan Prakash, Special Secretary (Home), Government of Manipur, has issued Manipur Gazette notification in this regard.
As per the new amendment, a penalty of Rs 2,000 has been proposed for violation of quarantine guidelines on each occasion; Rs 1,000 for failure to wear mask in public places; Rs 400 for failure to maintain social distancing In public places; Rs 1,000 for spitting in public places; Rs 400 for consumption of Paan (Kwa), Gutka and tobacco in public places; Rs 20,000 for gathering in excess of authorized number of persons on ceremonies; and Rs 2,000 for any other violation of guidelines.
Chief Minister , N . Biren Singh tweeted, “Seeing the present COVID-19 pandemic situation, all doctors and nurses including the paramedical staffs are requested to station at their respective posting places. All CMOs should also report their presence to me directly.”
