Shillong ( Meghalaya), April 22 : In view of the rapid rise of COVID-19 cases in the District and Shillong Urban Agglomeration in particular, shops and vendors as listed below shall remain closed from April,22 to May 2 in Shillong Urban Agglomeration.
This includes the whole of Municipal area, whole of Cantonment area, all areas under Mawlai C&RD Block including Census Towns, Mawpat C&RD Block including Census Towns, Mylliem C&RD Block from Umshyrpi Bridge upto 7th Mile, Upper Shillong including Madanrting, Mawblei, Laitkor,Nongkseh, Umlyngka and Lawsohtun.
The shops which will remain closed are Computer Stores and their Repair shops, Stationery and Book Stalls,Automobile Showrooms and Car Wash Units, Gift shops, Furniture shops,Photo Studios, Clothes and garments 8. Musical Instruments, Textiles ,Sports Equipment including Cycle shops, Tailoring shops, Dry Cleaners, Footwear. Bridal Shops, Ornaments , Toy shops, Home Appliances 18. Sewing, Craft and Novelty shops, Home Furnishing , Flower shops, Mattress and Quilt shops Emporiums, Electronic Items . Salons, Kitchen appliances including crockery ,etc,Tattoo studios, Watches and Clocks , Spas, Dance Studios , Driving schools and cosmetic shops
An order issued by District Magistrate , East Khasi Hills , Ms. Isawanda Laloo, said that any violation will be met with strict action under the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020.
