Dagenggre(Meghalaya),July 10 : The Sub-Divisional Officer of Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, Jagdish Chelani, convened a meeting to discuss planning for coordinated action to mitigate the damage and loss from imminent monsoonal deluge and Covid-19 management at the Conference Hall of the office on Friday , i,e July 9 where James Sangma, Meghalaya Minister for I&PR, Power, Taxation, etc. was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister lauded the SDO (C) for organizing such a productive meeting which is significant in view of the unprecedented situation in the state as a whole.
Talking about mitigation during times of calamities, he suggested the SDO (C) to conduct mock exercises in order to familiarize the Incident Response Team with the rescue and relief operations in the sub-division and suggested permanent relief camps in line with Bangladesh.
While speaking about the Covid-19 management, the minister said that vaccination is the only way which will pave the way to come back to normal life and urged everybody to get vaccinated. He also asked the officers to encourage and motivate the people to come forward for vaccination saying “We need to remove superstition surrounding Covid-19 vaccination in the state”.
Responding to the demand and grievances of the Medical Department in Dadenggre and Tikrikilla PHCs in terms of ambulances and other infrastructures, the minister assured to take up the issue with the Govt.
During the meeting the SDO (C), Jagdish Chelani, highlighted the purpose of the meeting and the composition of Incident Response Team of the sub-division, requirements for rescue and relief, etc. and apprised the minister of the need to upgrade Dadenggre and Tikrikilla Primary Health Centers to Community Health Centers. He also asked the police to mark the vaccinated shops with green and the non-vaccinated ones to mark with red.
The BDOs of Dadenggre, Selsella, Demdema and the SDO (C) of Raksamgre Sub-Division also highlighted the needs of their respective areas.
Meanwhile ,the vaccination for 18 plus people under Dadenggre C&RD Block will start from 12 July onwards at Block Multi Facility Center building according to the vaccination schedule issued in this regard by the Sub-Divisional Medical and Health Officer, Dadenggre.
According to the schedule, the villages like Dadeng Chigitchakgre, Dilsigre, Chibonggre, Amingokgre, A.dinggre, Dokramgre, Dechinggre, Upper and Lower Baljek A.duma and Baljek Songgitcham will be covered on 12 July. Other villages like Dabigre, Saka Boldakgre, Songmarenggre, Rengbonggre, Dimakgre, Duragre and Dilje A.pal have been scheduled for coverage on 13 July.
The vaccination for another 60 numbers of villages under Dadenggre Block will be covered on 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 July.
