Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 10: The Indian National Congress (INC) today released its second list of candidates for the upcoming district council elections in Meghalaya.
The list features 11 candidates for the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and 5 candidates for the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
Notably, veteran journalist Monarch Shabong has been fielded by the INC from the 10-Nongshken constituency.
The full list of INC candidates for the KHADC election is as follows:
1. 1-Jirang: Shri Victor Ranee
2. 5-Umroi: Shri Micky Douglas Syiem
3. 8-Nongkrem: Shri Lamborsing Nongrum
4. 9-Langkyrdem Laitkroh: Shri Rilang Nongkhlaw
5. 10-Nongshken: Shri Monarch Shabong
6. 12-Mawsynram: Shri Batskhem Marbaniang
7. 13-Sohra: Shri B. Vitus Rymmai
8. 21-Mawphlang Diengiei: Shri George Sun
9. 27-Nongstoin: Shri G. Ningstar Marthong
10. 29-Mawshynrut: Shri Kodang Rashir
11. 26-Langrin: Shri Pherdonnam Rngaid
For the JHADC election, the INC has fielded the following candidates:
1. 5-Mukhla Ummulong: Shri Bitos Sari
2. 7-Nartiang: Shri Katbanbiang Lamare
3. 9-Mynso Nongjngi: Shri Richard Singh Lyngdoh
4. 19-Jowai South: Shri Saron Pasweth
5. 27-Saipung Nongkhlieh: Shri Lalwilliama Thiaite
The INC’s second list of candidates is expected to bolster the party’s chances in the district council elections.
