Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 17: Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma today emphasized the importance of purpose and service in governance, urging civil service officers to remain guided by these values despite changes in positions and ranks. He was speaking at the annual conference of the Meghalaya Civil Service Officers’ Association (MCSOA) held at the State Convention Centre, here.
The Chief Minister praised MCS officers for their dedication and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s administrative framework. He highlighted ongoing reforms, including the creation of a separate Meghalaya cadre for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), and encouraged greater interaction and exposure among officers through programs that provide insights into governance at higher levels.
The conference was also addressed by senior officials, who discussed ways to improve facilities and promote regular MCS recruitment. The government’s commitment to improving the lives of the people of Meghalaya was evident in the discussions, which focused on ensuring effective governance and administrative reforms.
