Shillong (Meghalaya), April 11 : The Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya has been actively working to prevent smuggling activities along the international border. On Thursday , April 10, 2025, BSF troops apprehended two Indian nationals with a vehicle carrying contraband items near the border. The driver and co-driver couldn’t provide valid documents for the consignment, leading to the seizure of the vehicle and goods.
In a separate operation, BSF troops foiled an attempt to smuggle cattle by rescuing 23 cattle concealed in a jungle area near the international border. The individuals apprehended, along with the seized items, were handed over to Police Post Umkiang for further action.
These operations are part of the BSF’s ongoing efforts to curb cross-border smuggling.
