Shillong ( Meghalaya), Feb 15 : BJP National President J P Nadda today , Feb 15 , released the party’s manifesto for the Meghalaya Assembly elections here .
The manifesto outlines the party’s vision for the poll-bound state. While addressing the media during manifesto launch event, JP Nadda said that the 7th pay commission in Meghalaya will be implemented. He said, “We will implement the 7th Pay Commission in Meghalaya and the salaries of the government employees will be disbursed in time. We have decided that we will increase the amount paid to farmers by Rs 2,000 annually under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi. We will give a bond of Rs 50,000 on the birth of a girl child, and provide free education to girls from kindergarten to post-graduation.”
In its Sankalp Patra, BJP announced to form an STF under the chairmanship of a retired Supreme Court judge to investigate the corruption cases in the state. BJP President promised several schemes of women and youth empowerment.
He announced free education for girls from KG to PG. The BJP President said women would get 33 percent reservation in government jobs and free scooty would be provided to meritorious college-going students if party is voted to power.
The state will go to polls on Feb 27th .
Meanwhile, campaigning has intensified with leaders from national parties are addressing election meetings and rallies in the state.
