Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 5 :Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) FT emerged victorious in a tightly contested Group F match of the 134th IndianOil Durand Cup, defeating Rangdajied United FC 1-0 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here . The winning goal was scored by Nasir Yasa in the 67th minute, who calmly slotted the ball into the near post with a composed left-footed finish after being set up by Muhammad Arif.
Despite being out possessed and outmuscled by the home side, ATM FT’s strategic gameplay and counter-attacking prowess paid off. Rangdajied United dominated the match, creating several scoring opportunities, but the Malaysian side’s defense held strong, and their lone goal proved to be the difference-maker.
The tournament, which started on July 23, will conclude on Aug 23.
