Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 14 : The 5th edition of the Assam Rifles Half Marathon 2025 brought together over 3,000 runners from across India, promoting the “Fit India Movement” and national unity. Held at the Directorate General Assam Rifles in Shillong, the event featured three categories: Cloud Chase (21 km), Pine Path (10 km), and Crystal Stream (5 km).
Dignitaries including Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, Director General Assam Rifles, flagged off the runs, which saw participation from 26 states and 2 union territories. Sandeep Devrari of the Indian Army and Tamsi Singh from Uttar Pradesh emerged as winners in the 21 km men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
The event concluded with the distribution of medals, certificates, and cash prizes worth ₹20 lakhs. The Assam Rifles’ initiative promotes wellness, fitness, and togetherness in the North East, reflecting its commitment to peace and development in the region.
