Shillong(Meghalaya), Aug 5 : 22 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state on Wednesday taking the total number of cases in the state to 936.
However , the active cases stand at 595 .
Among the new cases , 19 are civilians from East Khasi Hills district , 1 BSF jawan from West Garo Hills and 2 civilians from South West Garo Hills .
In East Khasi Hills 16 new cases are high risk contacts of various positive patients in Shillong which includes cases from Nongrim Hills , Laitumkhrah, Mawlai Kynton Massar and Malki while 3 others are returnees.
The state also recorded 9 new recoveries , taking total recovered patients to 399. Among the 9 recoveries 5 are from East Khasi Hills, 2 civilians , 1 BSF, 2 from Armed Forces and 4 from Ri – Bhoi district.
The total number of samples collected so far 39553 , out of which 38062 found negative and results of 552 are awaited .
