Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Sept 6 : 2 suspected drug traffickers were arrested by the Anti Narcotic Task Force in East Khasi Hills district today, Sept 6.
The two persons were arrested with 156.12 gms of heroin. Two mobile phones, a vehicle and cash Rs 1. 28 lakhs were also seized from the accused.
Meghalaya police said that two drug peddlers were arrested in connection with the seizure of heroin.
“Our war against drug trafficking is on!” said Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet .
CM Sangma added: “In a well synchronized and swift ops East Khasi Hills Police nabbed 2 notorious traffickers and recovered -156.12 gms Heroin -2 smart phones -1 Chevrolet Vehicle – 1.28 lakh cash. Hunt for linkages is on.”
