Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 2 : 13 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,109.
Among the deaths , East Khasi Hills recorded 7 , Ri Bhoi and West Garo Hills 2 each and South Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills 1 each .
Interestingly ,none of the dead patients were vaccinated .
According to an official statement , 358 new cases were detected in the state on Monday with East Khasi Hills on the top with 197 cases.

537 patients were also discharged today after recovery .
The active cases now stand at 5,843 .
