Shillong ( Meghalaya), July 31 : 12 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the state in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,085.
9 deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills , 2 from South Garo Hills and 1 from from West Khasi Hills .

According to official sources , 686 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Saturday with East Khasi Hills on the top with 219 cases followed by West Khasi Hills with 187 cases and West Garo Hills with 83 cases.
With the recovery of 499 patients today , the active cases now stand at 5,966.
