Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 1 : 11 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the state in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 1,096 .
While 8 cases of death was reported from East Khasi Hills , 1 case each was reported from Ri Bhoi , West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills .
According to official sources , 589 new cases were detected in the state on Sunday with East Khasi Hills on the top with 233 cases .

501 patients were also discharged today after recovery .
The active cases now stand at 6,043 .
